The Lake Constance-Rhine Family Route

The Lake Constance–Rhine Family Route combines exercise, nature, and shared experiences. It runs for around 187 kilometers along the Rhine and Lake Constance – mostly flat, safe to cycle on, and ideal for bike tours with children. Thanks to good rail and boat connections, the route can be planned flexibly and adapted to suit individual needs.

A stage start full of highlights

Stage 1: Bad Ragaz – Buchs

To kick things off, Heidi's hometown of Maienfeld will delight fans of all ages. Safe paths lead along the Rhine through the Rhine Valley, past Sargans Castle to Buchs.

Stage 2: Buchs – Altstätten

Watch birds of prey, use fire pits, or discover crystals: this stage combines nature experiences with exciting excursions and plenty of variety for the whole family.

Where the Rhine kisses the lake

Stage 3: Altstätten – Arbon

There are numerous excursion destinations between the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance. Whether it's a swimming spot, farm, or playground—everyone will find their favorite stop here.

Stage 4: Arbon – Kreuzlingen

Through "Mostindien" along the shores of Lake Constance. Standard trees, apple-themed trails, and museums make this stage particularly enjoyable and educational.
