Wellness stay par excellence

A break from everyday life par excellence: at the Golf Panorama wellness hotel in Lipperswil, Thurgau, Nicole Moreno found the perfect feel-good place for her short vacation in Switzerland, as the following experience report shows.

Off to Lipperswil
We came across the Golf Panorama wellness hotel by chance via social media. Our first thought: Wow, it looks great! But where in the world is Lipperswil? Google enlightened us: In Thurgau, roughly between Kreuzlingen and Weinfelden, in the Lake Constance region. Good. We'd never been there before. On closer inspection, we found the region really attractive. Nice and green, rural, easy to reach from Zurich and lots of excursion options. We booked three nights - and could have stayed much longer...
View of the countryside
After arriving and checking in, we wanted to relax a little first. In the beautiful and spacious junior suite, we had a wonderful view of the countryside from the balcony. Breathe in the country air, relax, enjoy apple champagne and look out over the gentle expanse of the Thurgau. How beautiful life can be... Oops, we almost lost track of time from all the dreaming. We had to get going, after all, we had wellness on the agenda for the first day. Off to the wellness oasis in our coats and slippers.

Apple blossom wellness
We encountered the apple, the trademark of the canton of Thurgau, in various places in the "Fleur de Pomme" spa area, which we liked. We still had some time to get an overview of the spa area. Swimming pool, outdoor bubble pool, sauna, steam sauna, relaxation room with waterbeds... There was everything that stressed souls and wellness freaks needed to relax. We had booked the "Rendez-vous" wellness package for couples in advance, which included a bath followed by a massage. Two hours later and visibly more relaxed, we waddled back to our room. My husband, who is never really happy with hotel massages, said to my great astonishment: "That was great! I've probably never had such a great massage!" I thought so too.
Golden dining
In the hotel's own Lion d'or restaurant, you will encounter not only the apple but also the second trademark of the region: the golden lion. The 4-course half-board menu impresses with refined creations and can undoubtedly compete with the precious metal. In an award-winning establishment, good food is a matter of course - and the service also hits the mark: professional, warm and attentive. Culinary delights and service at the highest level make a stay in Thurgau unforgettable.

Excursions in the region
We knew that Thurgau is the apple region of Switzerland. But we didn't know what there was to experience here. So we decided to spend the rest of our stay getting to know the region. In the daily hotel mail, the Thurgau circular hiking trail, Ermatingen - Steckborn stage, was suggested to us. We hiked through pretty fishing villages, along Lake Constance and in Napoleon's footsteps up to Arenenberg Castle. The next day we drove to Weinfelden, a pretty wine village. The scenic wine trail here leads past wine taverns through the picturesque vineyards on the Ottenberg. The region is really pretty and offers more than we expected. We'll be back!
