The public city tour guides guests through the eventful history of the port city of Arbon: from the pile dwellers to the industrial pioneers of the Saurer family to the present day.
The extremely rich history of Arbon is given a voice by town guides. As early as the Neolithic period, around 3000 BC, there was a pile-dwelling settlement on what is now Arbon. The Romans arrived and left behind parts of a town wall, towers and more. Arbon-based Adolph Saurer AG was the most important Swiss manufacturer of trucks for a long time. Participants can learn this and more on the public guided tours through the historic town.
