Art boxes - Marie Velardi "Flux"

River catchment areas have long occupied Marie Velardi.
In a series of works created for the Kunstkästen, the artist reflects on the entire region defined by the Rhine catchment area. She questions our relationship to bodies of water and the water within us. The catchment area of the Rhine does not only concern the Velauf of the Rhine river, but also includes all its tributaries. The poetic works thus also raise geopolitical and social questions.
At the vernissage, there will be a walk through the art boxes together with the artist, followed by an aperitif.
A talk "about water" with the artist is planned for the event, followed by an aperitif.
Since 2009, ten art boxes have been installed in Schaffhausen's old town from the railroad station to the Rhine embankment promenade. The Vebikus Kunsthalle Schaffhausen commissions curators for a period of two years for each installation.
