Lake Constance Canoe Trail

Experience culture in a multi-pack from the crystal-clear water. Whether dark castles, shining palaces, mighty monasteries or huge flocks of birds - the charming nature and numerous historical buildings are fascinating on the 2-day canoe tour.
In the first two stages, the Lake Constance Canoe Trail crosses the tranquil Untersee. Separated from the large Upper Lake, the 'Swabian Sea', by the Seerhein, Untersee has its very own charms. Every year, up to 250,000 migratory birds use the shallow waters and extensive reed beds as winter quarters or a stopover on their journey. From charming Gottlieben with its timber-framed buildings and Drachenburg castle to the Franciscan monastery on Werdinsel and the thousand-year-old town of Stein am Rhein with its charming old town, there is plenty to discover from the boat.
A breather should be planned in between, not only because of the numerous secluded bathing spots on the banks of the Untersee and Rhine. Fresh Lake Constance fish is also waiting to be tasted in the cozy harbor restaurants.
Pleasantly carried by the current, you glide past historic houses and imposing monasteries as well as numerous lakeside restaurants on the third stage. Once you reach your destination, it is worth visiting the Munot, an old fortress and one of the highlights in Schauffhausen. Last but not least, the Rhine Falls offer an impressive natural spectacle, which can also be viewed from a boat.
