Hauptwil outdoor pool
In the 15th century, the Bischofszell Pelagius monastery near Hauptwil created a series of five ponds for fish farming. Today, these waters are protected and are of supra-regional and national importance - but swimming is still permitted with restrictions.
The municipality operates a small bathing area in the Hauptwil pond. However, dogs and swimming aids such as rubber boats, air mattresses etc. are not permitted. Access to the bathing area is via a coin-operated machine and swimming is at your own risk, as there is no supervision.
