Kefikon Castle
First mentioned in a document in 1241, Kefikon Castle was one of the fiefs of Reichenau Abbey until 1798. Notable figures such as Hans Konrad Escher von der Linth, builder of the Linth Canal, left their mark on the estate. In 1906, August Bach acquired the castle to establish a rural boarding school. Following a fire in 1929, renovations were carried out, during which, among other things, the mansard roof and the stepped gable of the residential tower were added. Today, Kefikon Castle is best known as the home of the Kefikon Castle Private School, which boasts over 100 years of tradition. The diverse grounds—featuring the historic castle, school building, park, swimming pool, Nufa Play Hill, and Switzerland’s largest natural pond—offer families, school groups, and visitors exciting insights into history, nature, and education.
