Bluescht bike tour in Thurgau

During the "Bluescht," the fruit tree blossom season in spring, Thurgau shows itself Thurgau its most beautiful. This bike tour takes you around the sea of white and pink blossoms. The route leads from Romanshorn via Oberthurgau to Arbon and along Lake Constance back to Romanshorn.

The Thurbo regional train takes leisure cyclists and cycling enthusiasts to Romanshorn, the starting point of the tour, easily and conveniently. From St. Gallen, you can reach Romanshorn in just over 15 minutes with the RegioExpress, and from Kreuzlingen in just under half an hour. The level entrance to the Thurbo train makes it easy to board with bicycles and trailers. On the way, you can admire the passing blossoms through the large windows.
The Bluescht bike tour starts at the train station in Romanshorn. If you are traveling with your own bike, you can enjoy refreshments on the beautiful terrace by the lake at the Hafen restaurant or cycle straight away in the direction of Steinebrunn.

The route starts with a gentle climb to the first stop, Hagenwil Castle. The historic building, the oldest parts of which are around 800 years old, houses a popular restaurant that invites visitors to take a break and enjoy fresh cuisine and regional specialties.

The route continues through extensive orchards, climbing gently uphill to Ruggisberg. This vantage point with its picturesque chapel offers a magnificent view over Lake Constance. From here, it is not far to the highest point of this bike tour, Dottenwil Castle. The rest of the route slopes gently down towards Lake Constance.

Roggwil is home to Huus-Braui, a modern microbrewery with an idyllic garden restaurant. It's an insider tip for cyclists and beer lovers. In Arbon, it's worth visiting MoMö, the Swiss Cider and Distillery Museum. Here, you can see an interactive display showing how apples from the "Bluescht" are processed into juice.
Another stopover beckons at DOCKeins, right by the harbor basin in Arbon. The last stage runs flat along the Lake Constance Cycle Route. If you like, you can enjoy some refreshments at the Seehuus restaurant in Egnach before reaching Romanshorn, the end of the tour.
