Ittingen Charterhouse – Garden Art Behind Monastery Walls

The Ittingen Charterhouse is one of the most impressive garden complexes in Switzerland. Within the historic monastery walls, vegetables, herbs, grapevines, and hops have been cultivated for centuries according to monastic tradition.
Particularly worth seeing are the more than 1,000 historic rose bushes, the herb garden, and the scented maze. The combination of culture, nature, gastronomy, and garden art makes the Kartause one of the most important gardens on Lake Constance in the Thurgau.

Located directly on the shores of Lake Constance, Seeburgpark combines nature experiences with relaxation. Spacious green areas, a herb and spice garden, an observation tower, a petting zoo, and numerous play areas make the park a popular destination for families. With its unique location between the city and the lake, Seeburgpark is one of the region’s best-known public gardens.

Thurgau Farm Garden Route – Garden Culture in Action

The Farm Garden Route connects more than 15 traditional farm gardens in the Lake Constance region ( Thurgau ) and brings a valuable piece of rural cultural heritage to life. Amid historic half-timbered houses, blooming flower beds, herbs, vegetables, and berries, the diversity of classic farm gardens around Lake Constance is on full display. Some gardens can be visited at any time, while others can be admired from the outside. Each garden tells its own story and offers insights into a gardening culture that continues to shape the Thurgau region to this day. Particularly popular is the “Open Farm Garden Day” in June, when all participating gardens open their gates to visitors.
